Yoga is CHANGE
Yoga has so many reasons and definitions and meanings to many. Yoga is "Union" Yoga is "connection".
The fundamental reason behind the practice is to change. Change your body, change your mind, change your way of doing things.
ost everyone that begins a yoga practice, wheather it is the physical postures, "Asanas" or the sitting Meditation postures is seeking some sort of change. Changing the way our body looks is the most common reason in the western world. Changing the way we view life. Changing the way we think the future might unfold. And changing the way we react to the present from our past experiences.
Every way you look at yoga is about changing in every way. Yoga is change.
We practice to let go of the past. Which helps change how we will view the present and the future. We practice letting go of attachments, this will change our mindset, allowing us to act and react in a more loving way throughout our days.
We are changing our body. Burning off excess fat, lengthening and stretching muscles. Loosening ligaments, opening joints. Releasing stored emotions, letting go of mental attachments that manifest into the body. Sweating out toxins. Breathing out negative emotions and thoughts. Freeing the stiffness and stagnation that causes physical pain. Its a transformation of change.
You will change the way you feel, change the way you look, change the way you act, change the way you breath and change the way you think. All change for the good.
If you are thinking about getting into a regular yoga practice either alone at home or at a studio, expect change. Change is good. It might be very subtle or dramatic but either way your life will change. Maybe for just a moment or hopefully for the rest of your existence in this life.
Through Yoga you will change and it truly is what your seeking. Change the way you think. Change the way you feel. Change the way you percieve things. Change the way you act and react to situations. Change the way your body functions. Change the way your mind operates. Change the way your awareness is present. Yoga will change you. Because that is what yoga is. Yoga is change. For the BETTER.
Keep practicing and enjoy the change, your life and the lives of those around you will benefit for this positive.
